In addition to the discontinuing of the 21/4 Skopar (replaced by the 21/4 Pancake Skopar), the Bessaflex, and the SL lens line announced earlier this year, Cosina yesterday announced it will also be discontinuing the following Voigtlander-branded items:

  1. 28/3.5 Screw Mount Leica lenses
  2. 35/1.7 Screw Mount Leica lenses
  3. F-L SL series lens adapter (F-S adapter discontinued over a year ago)
  4. the SL series Nikon F/F2 finder adapter
  5. the Column Type hand grip
  6. the Ball Type hand grip
  7. the VC Meter neck strap (VC meters stay in production)
  8. the Bessaflex hot shoe adapter

These items are being discontinued due to either slow sales or upgrades in the works. On a more positive note, Cosina announced that even though it's line of premium SLR lenses has been discontinued there will be one last production run of Pentax KA-mount lenses in the 90, 125, and 180 focal lengths.

My personal feeling is that the 28/3.5 Skopar will get the "pancake makeover" along the same lines as the 21/4 and 25/4 to make it more appealing to R4 owners. The 35/1.7 Ultron will probably get an M-mount. These are just guesses, though.
