Repairing 35mm Ultron 1 Year ago Karma: 1
Hi Brian,

I tried following your article re: repairing a 50mm 1.5 Nokton with a loose barrel on my 35mm Ultron but was unsuccessful. Perhaps I have a different problem than the one you described. I can actually move the entire front section of the lens barrel back and forth so that the front element is no longer on the same plane as the rear element. I'm guessing that the problem is in the focusing mechanism somewhere. I checked the screws in the front of the lens as you suggested (there are 6 on the Ultron, by the way) but all were tight. Rather than push my luck I reassembled the lens. I'll try taking a few test shots with it in its current condition but with it being as loose as it is I am not very hopeful.

Thanks for posting the article anyway, as I wouldn't have tried checking the front screws myself without it.

Doug

Same problem here. Loose barrel on 35/1.7, and the Nokton-fixguide doesn't seem to work for this lens. What can be done with this problem?
