I guess I'm stupid for not realizing the lightmeter doesn't work when the Ultron 28/1.9 is on the Bessa R3A....?
It should. What's "not working" about it?

I think it's ok now. No idea why it wasn't working. Basically I got no reading from the meter when I initially put the Ultron on. Kinda had me worried that I was gonna have to use that handheld lightmeter even with Bessa. It seems to be fine now--no problem as I can see.

BTW Stephen Gandy again proved how nice a person he is and how easy he is to work with when I ordered the M-mount adapter and 28mm viewfinder. We had some misunderstanding between our emails and I just rang him up--everything straight and he shipped the stuff that day, overnight--everything groovy.

With the 35 Nokton on order, I'm thinking of selling my 35 Ultron and replacing it with something smaller. I was thinking of a CV 35/2,5 Skopar but now that I've read Tom's praise of the 28/3,5, I might go for that instead. I like 28mm focal length on my Pentax SLR but never had a 28mm lens for a rangefinder. I would love a small 28/2,8 if CV every decided to make one.

28mm is my standard lens. It's a great angle of view for street photography...you can do the "I'm not pointing the camera at you" thing and get your subject in the left or right third
