I'd go for the 35/1.4. It's sharper wide open and a lot smaller. The only benefits to the 35/1.2 are a little extra speed and tonality (although from what I've seen shot wide open the 1.2 has very poor contrast.)

Thanks for the review Brian. I have been considering a next lens for my R3M. Now I'm torn between the 35/1.4 Nokton Classic and the 35/1.2 Nokton!

Has anyone seen the comparison Sean Reid has done between the ultron and the nokton 35?

He got the opposite results, with a really bad focus shift, I wonder if Brian got a really bad Ultron while Sean got two very bad Nokton.

Actually, we got different but not contradictory results. I got great center sharpness at/near wide-open. He got slightly noticeable focus shift at f2.8 and more backfocusing at f4.
