I think that you will like the L-208. It's very versatile.

I like the VC II meter. The ISO dials tendency to shift is a bit of a problem but once you are aware of it -no sweat. There is obviously not enough room underneath to put a spring or a "click" stop. I use the now discontinued little shoe with a neckstrap, rather than attaching it to the camera. It is small enough to have it drop into a shirt pocket and the strap keeps it from gettin lost. In my regular "vest" I stitched in a pair of D-rings and just loop the "rope" through that.
I also carry the GossenDigisix (the really small one) and it is not bad. Too many functions though, as if I cared what the temperature is in my pocket! The fact that it is always"on" is handy, although you better change batteries every 3-4 month. The EV read out system is fine as it matches my R3M/R4M read out.
On the VCII I did "fix" the shifting ISO setting by taking off the dial, putting a bit of sticky tape underneatth and re-assembling it. So, it is now set at 400, but that is what I use 90% of the time anyway. Mine is a very early one 00006 and i think it has been tightened up on the later ones.
