I have a Bessa L 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi all...i'm really new here

As mentioned above, i have bessa L that i bought for SGD100.
No lens. YES, no lense.

I'm thinkin of buying the 24/f4 lense...any advice on how to use that lense?
How do i focus using the Bessa L?

Nex thing is abt metering. I'm thinking of using slides...
How do i meter using slides? Nvr used them before.
Any advice are welcomed/

Well, with the 24 lens, you are supposed to "guesstimate" the focus (guess) and when it comes down to it, you can get pretty good at it. The depth of field helps you cover your errors.

When it comes a metering, particularly with slides, you better get yourself a small handheld meter like the Gossen Digiflash or the Seikonic meter in about the same price and function bracket.

You might want to start off using the incident light reading feature of a meter. It works very well with slides.

I have the 25/4 snapshot skopar that I use on my bessa L. I love this lense. I have found that the lense renders color on color film very well. I'm even amazed at the quality when using cheaper 35mm films. The scale focusing is relatively easy to get used to. You'll enjoy using this little jewel. It's alot of fun. I'm running a roll of Kodak UC 400 in mine right now.
cheers,
gb

The Bessa L + 25/4 Snapshot Skopar is a really fun combination. Just load it with some medium or fast speed film, set the lens to hyperfocus at f5.6 or f8 and shoot. Every once in awhile check your meter and adjust your shutter as needed. That's it

Re:I have a Bessa L 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
thks for all the advice...

aft much thought...i'd save up for a Bessa R and get a 35/f2.5
and either a 24 or 21.

I love wide but most of the time...a 35 will always b on my cam.

therefore...i'd have to let the Bessa L go and get a Bessa R.

Rite now Chiif have some Bessa R with 35/f2.5 in stock.
I'd ask him abt it

again, thks all for the advice...

Chii Fei is a good guy and I know you'll enjoy the R and 35 Skopar. Very quick, robust, and compact combo.
