R4 viewfinder 10 Months ago Karma: 0
I am trying to determine if a lens will block the R4 viewfinder...or to what extent it will. I mean specifically the Zeiss Biogon 21mm f2.8.

I've always preferred wide angle and recently had the opportunity to use the Zeiss 21 and I don't think I've ever had results like that ever ever. I do not like the attachable viewfinders and research brought me to the R4...if it works.

Any help?

I can't help with the ZI lenses, but I do know that any of the CV Skopars or Pancake design lenses won't intrude into the framelines. However my favorite wide, the CV 28/1.9, sticks so far into the 28mm framelines as to be impossible to use.

Thank you Brian I believe that answers my question. The ZI 21mm is a rather large lens with a 46mm filter size. I believe the 28mm 1.9 has the same filter size and may be the same overall size. Guess I need to keep looking...or get used to an extra viewfinder.
