I need help loading my R2A! 10 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello.

I recently bought an R2A and an Ultron 35mm. Ive probably had it for 4 days now and have used one roll of film with it. Now, frustrating as it is I cant seem to successfully load a fresh roll of film.

The first roll I loaded easily barely looking at the instruction manual, this time I have read the book over and over and tried a few times but I cant get the film to advance.

I get to the point where I pull the leader strip onto the teeth, close the door and try to advance the film but It seems to be falling off the teeth and not advancing. I realised this was happening when I heard the advance lever operating as if there wasnt any film in the camera.

Im stuck! Any hints or advice?

Thanks,
Harry

Wind the film at least once before closing the film door.

Thanks, Brian.

As expected it turned out to be something glaringly obvious: the end of the film was not sitting in the slot on the film advance spool.

No worries. I usually wind through a couple of frames before closing the film door. You'll end up with (from a 36exp roll) 37 shots.
