This is weird.

50/1.5 Nokton on, no problem.

75 Heliar on...won't focus at infinity (patch doesn't line up)

50/1.5 Nokton on again...won't focus at infinity...then after one full turn of the focusing ring, it lines up fine.

both lenses work fine on my R2. This is only hapenning with my R2a.

rf need calibrating? ???

Is the rangefinder cam wobbly-loose, or otherwise buggered up? You can compare the two cameras, I'd guess that the parts are similar.

If it's something internal that has come undone, it'll need repair attention, unless you can do that sort of thing yourself.

Unfortunately from what I read on the internet, Voigtlander new products do sometimes tend to come apart. Usually they can be put back together.

Good luck, and let us know how it's going.

Don't know if this qualifies as weird behavior or just shoddy workmanship, but my R2a has been subject to occasional jams -- you would press the shutter release and nothing happened. At first I thought it was a dead battery but other owners reported this behavior on various forums as well. They said it was a defect in the advance mechanism and that if you advanced the film too quickly after making an exposure the shutter would not cock. Applying some pressure to the advance lever would sometimes solve the problem. Well, beware. Yesterday, my R2a kept jamming and I kept missing shots and I put some pressure on the advance lever and the internal gears must have sheared. The lever now moves freely back and forth but that's all it does. No film advance, no nothin'. I'm posting this as a heads-up to other owners that the advance mechanism is apparently extremely fragile and to be careful about trying to force it. The R2A does make an attractive doorstop, however.

This happened to my R2a once in the couple of years that I've had it. Took it to a local repair guy and it's been fine since. It's never happened to my R2. I abuse the heck out of both of them (they are both proudly scarred and dented) and honestly I haven't found them to be less or more "reliable" then the SLR stuff I've used in the same price range with the only exception being the Nikon FM2n and FM3a.

I had somewhat of a similar experience with my Ultron and it turned out to be the CV LTM-M adapter. The Ultron would focus past infinity on my Bessa-T. I changed the adapter for another one and it fixed the problem.

I'm starting to think I need an adjustment, but I'll try that first. I have another adapter stuck in my R2 that I can try in the R2a and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks
