Back to Article

My guess is that they are just going to replace the LTM mount with an M mount. I hope so, at least... the 28 Ultron is an awesome design and my favorite RF lens. :-/a>

My guess is that they are just going to replace the LTM mount with an M mount. As I was perusing (dreaming) on CameraQuest about that 28mm f1.9, I was wondering the same thing to myself. Is it like when Apple discontinues something or the prices drop precipitously, meaning they're about to come out with something that trumps it? ie. should I wait?

People have been suggesting that the 28/1,9 will come back in M-mount. If you by any chance plan on getting the M8, I would get the screw-mount version so that you can get an ltm-m adapter with the matching 6-bit coding. Judging from the other new CV lenses, if the 28 Ultron comes back M-mount, there may also be a price increase.

If it is just an M mount "upgrade" I'd get the LTM mount. It's more versitile as it can be used on both LTM and M-mount cameras + the M8 issue mentioned previously.

I don't think they'll change the lens formula as the 28/1.9 is one of Cosina's better ones and has some great word-of-mouth behind it.
