i have grey bessa r3a, 15mm,25mm,40mm,75mm and bessa l.
this is a real problem for me..i always want to take the camera with me, but a hate carrying all the gear around, but i don't wanna be caught out with the wron lens!
iv been trying hard to ween myself off the whole kit, taking just the r3a and nokton 40.
can anyone suggest a good camera shoulder bag for r3a and maybe 3-4 lens?? most bags are designed for slr's so are wide tall but not thin and long.

I found like a new Cullmann bag in a thrift shop a few months back. Now there's a bag! It's small but will easily cary your Bessa and lenses. I believe it's made in Germany.

I've only used it once, though. It's too nice to grunge around with.

Post edited by: FrankG, at: 2006/10/25 13:52

Hi all, I can't speak for everyone, but when I'm out and about 'RF' shooting I don't want to be noticed and typically the nicest camera bags are usually the most overt by either their colours or design. I have now resorted to a home made, more covert option, which is your 60's hippie canvas shoulder bag, less than $5.00 from a disposal / surplus store which I lined with some thin sorbathane and glued in a few compartments for the bits. Its worked well for me although not as secure as your Billingham or whatever, but has allowed me to have exactly the compartments that I need without looking like a rich tourist. N S.

That's why I carry my Bessa around in an old beat-up Lowepro bag. Today at the soup kitchen I whipped it out and this Doctor says, "Oh, is that a Leica?"

PS: I replied with a "no," and then she asked me if it's digital. Of course I said that I only use film...the good stuff (because I am a Bessa pimp).

The canvas Domke bags do well and aren't too expensive. I used to use the F3-X, which could hold 1 body and 4+ lenses. Now I use an F2, which carries the same number of lenses (same number of lens pockets) but has room for 2 bodies. They are extremely rugged, too.

On the cheaper side, there are Chinese-made Domke canvas bag clones called "Sanfrotto" (I think).
