Gold vs. Silver Reflector for B&W? 1 Year, 1 Month ago Karma: 3
Maybe a stupid question, but there's a good chance I'll be shooting some portraits this weekend and will be bringing along a medium (80cm) reflector for fill-in.

With regard to B&W film, is there an appreciable difference between using a silver or a gold reflector? When shooting night markets on 35mm I've noticed a certain "richness" to scenes lit with tungsten bare-bulbs.

Any experience?

I can't speak from experience, but I suspect, due to the fact that silver reflects cooler colors, it may make the area a bit lighter than the gold, which is warmer in tone.

It will be an interesting experiment.

Those who know what they are doing use film, the rest use digital.
